Manager of Financial Controls and Compliance

Summary:

Our client is a pioneer and industry leader in the gourmet greenhouse industry. As a family-owned business, they have proudly served the community for the last 65 years. Our client is a growing company who is looking to add an experienced and professional Manager of Financial Controls and Compliance to their team. The Manager, Financial Controls and Compliance will assess operational, financial, and compliance risks by analyzing end-to-end business processes.

The Manager of Financial Controls and Compliance must have experience conducting audits and developing remediation plans.

Manager of Financial Controls and Compliance Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely-related degree
• 7 years of progressively-responsible roles, as an Audit Analyst/Consultant, or in a related audit/internal controls or public accounting role
• CPA, CIA, CMA, CFE, MBA preferred
• 1-3 years of leadership experience preferred

Manager of Financial Controls and Compliance Description:

• Setting control documentation standards and working with the finance and accounting team to implement for key financial processes
• Perform annual risk assessment and advise on control design and improvements to increase operating effectiveness
• Develop and promote standard and consistent processes and controls across the finance and accounting function
• Formulate appropriate, practical, and cost-effective recommendations and remediation action plans
• Design new business processes to align with internal control structure and business needs
• Manage Segregation of Duties (SoD) risks, including risk identification, monitoring SoD conflicts and mitigating controls, quarterly access reviews, and conflict remediation
• Identify and clearly define internal control risks, issues, and root causes, recommend improved internal controls and business processes, ensure corrective actions are developed and implemented, and present findings to appropriate management
• Facilitate M&A integration with the business to drive seamless integration of M&A businesses into the corporate environment
• Manage data and data transparency, strive for data accuracy and consistency through clear and effective data governance process design, and develop clarity on what can be shared and with whom
• Coach and develop internal control analyst(s) through support and supervision
• Be knowledgeable of and promote internal control best practices and control environment
• Other duties as assigned
